‘Twas A Month Before Christmas, South Barrington Light’s Style…
‘Twas a month before Christmas, and all through our place,
Lights wait to begin twinkling, each in its own space.
The snowflakes have been hung with meticulous care,
Hoping real snowflakes will soon fill the air.
Candy canes line the driveway, a festive display,
Their red and green stripes brightening the way.
In the woods, tomato baskets transformed into trees,
Awaiting the moment to blink in red, white, and green.
The lights on the house? Too many to count,
But they do more than blink—just wait till you see what they’re about.
For months, our head elf has worked with delight,
Creating a Christmas display far beyond what’s in sight.
He rented a lift to safely scale the heights,
Spending hours and hours hanging up lights.
He does it all with a heart full of cheer,
And now it’s your turn to come and share in the year.
Come marvel at the lights—it’s a show like no other,
With magical moments and characters to discover.
The switch was flipped on Thanksgiving night,
And the lights glowed and danced to music, a stunning sight.
From 5 to 10 each evening, the lights will shine bright,
But on December 31st, they’ll say their last goodnight.
You see, our elf is tired, though he loves this display,
It’s time for him to rest, and so we say…
2024 marks the final year of South Barrington Lights,
It’s time for us to bid you goodnight.
For over twenty years, the lights have shone bright,
And in making this choice, we’ve shed many a tear tonight.
It’s been a joy to see all your smiles and cheer,
To know you sang along and held the season near.
It breaks our hearts that December 31 st will be the final show,
But we know it’s time for us to let go.
So, thank you all for coming to see the lights,
For being a part of our holiday nights.
You’ve touched our hearts in more ways than you know,
And we’ll treasure these memories wherever we go.
